- abeyance
Delay a magical effect's starting to work until another effect is incorporated into it.
The subsequently incorporated effect must be prespecified (although it can, itself, include this application), and the behaviour of the completed effect must be determined in advance.
Once a new magical effect is incorporated into an effect with an external link, the link is sealed (disappears), and the two combine to form a single magical effect, which starts functioning straight away.
This application is designed to allow a group of magicians to build complex effects, combining their knowledge and skills, or to allow a single magician to produce a difficult effect in stages. As such, it is particularly useful if the 'flashy magic' option is not in use.
